Role: Solar Project Engineer
Duration: 1 yearcontract + likelihood for extension/conversion
Pay Rate: $50/hr max
Address: Juno Beach preferred, but remote within the state of FL is acceptable. If remote, candidates would be expected to travel to Juno Beach once a month.
Job Description:
Seeking a Project Engineer supporting solar farm design and construction. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for managing 3rd party contractor teams to develop engineering designs for solar projects.
Project engineering responsibilities span from initial concept definition to construction and final commissioning and require continuous coordination with diverse project stakeholders such as environmental, procurement, transmission services, and project managers for both early stage and construction.
A successful candidate will have experience applying value engineering to balance reliability, cost, and performance for complex systems, along with thorough knowledge of the various applicable engineering disciplines including electrical, structural, civil, and materials.
A preferred candidate will have experience successfully managing schedules and budgets for major capital projects.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering focused in electrical, civil, mechanical, aerospace, chemical or a similar field
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience. Exceptions can be made for less than 5 years if that experience is a good match
- Engineering and project management experience on utility scale solar projects is preferred
- Great communication, leadership and project management skills
- Strong candidates with experience outside of the power industry (aerospace, civil/stormwater, etc)
- Engineering and project management in the following fields may also be considered: DG/commercial solar
- Other technologies in the power industry - BESS, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen, substation, transmission, etc
